Yuwie? FriendsWin? uVme? Which one to choose?

Ok, so what's the big deal?

There have been many social networking sites like MySpace to spring up! and die just as quickly. MySpace was NOT the pioneer of the social networking scene, however they have become the biggest. Speculation concludes that the reason for the MySpace boom, is mainly because of the influence toward local bands, initially in L.A., the home town of the founders Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe. The two met while working for a free online 'hard drive' storage site called XDrive back in 1999. (Xdrive is now owned by AOL) Between 1999 and 2004, Tom and Chris left Xdrive and formed a few businesses, ultimately to be bought out by "Intermix Media" to start up MySpace. The two both had connections in the local band scene of L.A. and that is where it is believed their "word-of-mouth" start began.

So what does all of this have to do with anything? It's a history lesson. Just sit tight... I'm moving on...

What is Lookout MySpace all about? Well, I have run across several sites that provide a distinct advantage over the typical social network services that MySpace, FaceBook and the slew of other have to offer. I decided to post some information, mainly the common questions people like your-self have, once you've heard about these sites. I too had questions but didn't know where to turn. I am not trying to persuade you into joining up with the respective services, I just want to answer some of the common questions people have about Yuwie.com and FriendsWin.com in hopes to provide enough information that you can make a sound decision on your findings.

What could MySpace possibly have to worry about? Sit back and relax because I am about to tell you!

The reason MySpace has reason to be scared, is because of several emerging sites as of this year:

So What is Yuwie and what is friends win?

Yuwie and Friendswin are both social networking websites, very similar to MySpace. They both have one distinct difference and huge advantage over MySpace. You are probably asking what could be better than MySpace?

The answer is Money!

That's right! Yuwie.com and FriendsWin.com are both designed very similar to a MLM [or] Multi Level Marketing company. FriendsWin from my understanding, is truly classified as a MLM company. Yuwie on the otherhand, claims to not be a MLM company. Their payout structure is only based like one. FriendsWin will be free to everyone who wants to use the standard features, but they are going to charge a 'pay per use' for certain features of the site. You can read more about the details on the What is FriendsWin Page. The upcoming uVme is also going to require a monthly service fee, but the I believe the payout on uVme is much higher than Yuwie or FriendsWin. uVme is also free at the moment while they take "pre-signup" applications; however, will require an upfront registration fee with a monthly service fee on top of that.

Yuwie currently holds my top vote among the social networking sites that 'make money' for the simple fact that Yuwie is 100% Free.

Free? This sounds too good to be true...

That is exactly what I thought. Until I plunged in and initially signed up for Yuwie. Even after I signed up, I still had doubts... I have a friend on Yuwie that is still to this day doubtful. And that's OK! I didn't like the idea of filling out a W-9 to some website that claimed to pay you for simply being on it, until I ran across one of the help articles outlining that exact fear. It stated that if you aren't comfortable with filling out the form, then don't! Wait until you have some money generated, then fill it out! All of my fears went away and I was able to focus on the premise of how the site works.

Yeah, how does Yuwie and FriendsWin.com work? How Do I Make Money?

Like I said before, Yuwie and FriendsWin.com are like a MLM company. Don't think you are getting money for free here, you do have to put some effort into it... but, in a nutshell, when you sign up for either site, you receive a 'referral' link that is specific to you. It's like an account number. When you receive that number, you simply e-mail it to friends or post it on your MySpace profile, post it bulletins etc. Let people know about it. When they click on the link, they are sent to the introduction pages of each respective site and given a description of what the site is and how it works. That's it! It's up to them to make the move to sign up for the site, but it's up to you to make them realize the power behind the system.

So... Which one's better? Yuwie or FriendsWin?

Honestly, that is not an answer I can give you. It is solely up to you to decide but I will provide as much information as I can to help you make a decision.

Yuwie

Yuwie opened their 'site doors' the very end of June. As of today, (09-23-2007) there are 87,599 members on Yuwie and 47,597 of those have signed up the month of September alone. Yuwie brought in over 40,000 members in the month of August alone. That means Yuwie grew over 13x in one month! As of (01-27-2008) Yuwie has 440,001 members and growing at the rate of roughly 70,000 members per month. Within the first year, they will probably have over a million members!

I checked out the Alexa traffic ranking for Yuwie today (08-31-2007), and it was sitting at a staggering 19,478 (the lower the number the better [and] to be ranked under 100,000 in Alexa is doing awesome!) I checked it again today (09-05-2007) and it is sitting at 16,248. It's actually kind of cool to look at the graph and see the spike in traffic since the inception of the site :) And yet again, I checked today (09-23-2007) and it is sitting at 8,064. Check that out! It has dropped in half in less than a month! As of (01-27-2008) Yuwie has dropped to an alexa ranking of 2,216. WOW!

FriendsWin

FriendsWin on the other hand, opened their door officially, November 6th 2007. This is one major advantage Yuwie has over FriendsWin. What am I talking about? A race of this nature is best won by the one with the head start. However, Friendswin appears to have a few caveats up their sleeve that neither MySpace nor Yuwie currently offer. FriendsWin is currently 'free' to sign up as a "limited" general user, but if you want to make money as an IMR, you will be required to pay a $10 monthly membership fee to use some of the fancy features of the site. For more detailed updates on the site, check out the FriendsWin Update Status page.

OK, You're at the end of the page... Where do you want to go?
